Frequently Asked Questions.

Is now a good time to enter therapy? How can I tell?

  • Are you having difficulty coping with your family, children, partners and want to gain more clarity and confidence in your parenting?

  • Have your eating and sleeping habits changed?

  • You no longer enjoy the things that you used to. Your emotions feel out of your control.

  • You’ve experienced something horrible.

  • You’re searching for who you are and why you behave the way you do. You can’t find relief?

How does therapy work?

Through deep listening and support, you will solve your problems and achieve your goals. A safe, nurturing, and validating environment can give you a new opportunity to take accountability for yourself, to solve your own problems, to set and meet your goals.

What is my approach to therapy?

I take a holistic approach to your treatment, assessing the physical, social, spiritual, and psychological aspects of your life. I have training in psychodynamic psychotherapy, CBT, DBT, IFS, and EMDR. I am gender and sexuality affirming. I am an ally and advocate for equity and inclusion.

I work with an array of emotional issues:

  • anxiety

  • depression

  • new parenthood

  • life transitions

  • history of sexual abuse

  • pregnancy and postpartum anxiety, depression, and OCD

  • breastfeeding trauma

How long will you be in therapy?

We will figure this out together and you will know when you’ve achieved your goals. Most people have one weekly 45 minute session. Some people choose to do more in-depth work and come to therapy 2-3x per week. Sessions that are multiple times a week allow for less catching up and deeper therapeutic work.

What is the policy around confidentiality?

Confidentiality is taken extremely seriously. New York, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania State laws have clear guidelines regarding the confidentiality of communications between a client and therapist.

A therapist is legally required to report the following:
Suspected child neglect and/or abuse, dependent adult or elder abuse a report to authorities must be made

If a client is threatening physical harm to another person(s) authorities must be alerted
If a client intends to harm themselves authorities must be alerted

How much does therapy cost?

My fee as of January 1, 2024 is $235 for individual therapy. (Fees for couples and family sessions will be assessed during intake.) My fee will go up $10-15 per year. If you are to been seen multiple times a week the fee is adjusted. Payment is due by cash, check, or Zelle at the time of each session. Therapy is a personal investment for you and your loved ones.

Do you accept insurance?

I am an Out-of-Network provider. I provide a monthly invoice for you to submit to your insurance company for your reimbursement.

To find out the specifics of your plan, call your insurance provider and ask the following questions:

•           Do I have out-of-network mental health benefits?

•           Do I have a deductible and has it been met?

•           How many mental health sessions per year does my insurance plan allow?

•           How much does my plan cover for an out-of-network mental health provider?

What if I need to cancel my appointment?

To cancel your session, 24 hours notice is required. For cancellation with less than 24 hours notice clients are financially responsible for their missed session. Client will be invoiced for the missed session and the session can not be billed to the clients insurance. Rescheduling within the same week (depending on availability) or having an additional session the following week may be options.
